2012 – a fresh new year and the chance for a fresh new start. As the excitement of a new year hits and the hangovers wear off, the attitude “out with the old in with the new” abounds. But before you invade your closet and start tossing every faux fur vest and leopard heel, check out my three key trends from fall 2011 that will transition wonderfully well into spring.
The Wide Leg Pant…While heavy wool or lined pairs aren’t the best choice for keeping cool when the temps start to rise, wide legged pants in lightweight fabrics or denim can easily make the switch to spring. Lighten up dark pants by pairing with a light colored top and opt for wedges or high heeled sandals over boots.
The Tuxedo Jacket…An easy option for after hours, the tuxedo jacket is a fashion staple that transcends well beyond the 2011 season. For spring, it doesn’t matter if it’s black or white – mix with a chic pair of shorts or dress for a quick fix of fab!

However, tread with caution fashionistas...the trick to this trend (ironically enough) is to not appear overly youthful. |
