Building Blocks of Color

Listen up ladies, that drab blue / black combo you rock everyday – you know the one, snoozefest black trousers, white cotton tank, and navy cardigan – well it’s a whole lotta boring! By winter’s end dark colors were on the downfall, and outrageous color combos reigned supreme for summer.
After a weekend of “research” on NYC’s fabulous 5th Avenue I’ve found that the bold color-blocking trend is staying strong as fall approaches.  Here are a few of my favorite pairings to kick off a new season of dress up…
Cinnamon & Camel: Try this duo for a stylish blend of spicy and sophisticated. This color palette is especially complimentary on warm skin tones.

Orange & Fuchsia: Citrus is already established as a wardrobe staple, but this is a great way to wear it if you’re intimidated by the sunny-side up.  The trick to making this vibrant trend work? Choose rich materials!

Cornflower & Oxblood: There’s nothing “blue” about this beautiful combo. A rich, luscious leather piece perfectly complements the femininity of cornflower blue.

  1. I think my favorite combination is cornflower and oxblood. I'd wear everything in that panel. Love the post as usual.
